Our Story
The Nuthatch opened its doors in 2016 on Bedford Street, in the heart of Middlesbrough's independent quarter. From the beginning, our mission has been to create a warm and welcoming space where guests can enjoy handcrafted cocktails, British charcuterie, and the kind of hospitality that feels both relaxed and refined. As an independent venue, we've grown alongside the community, championing local suppliers and celebrating the character of Teesside. In 2026, we're proud to be marking ten years on Bedford Street.

Our menu is all about craftsmanship and discovery. With over 50 cocktails to choose from, you'll find timeless classics like the Negroni and Old Fashioned, alongside unique creations such as our Honey Buzzard (a chai-spiced twist on the espresso martini) and the Marmalade Marianito (made with Gin Mare Capri and Yorkshire marmalade).
Beyond cocktails, our back bar is home to over 100 spirits from around the world, and our wine list balances crowd-pleasing favourites with carefully selected gems. Whether you're celebrating, trying something new, or settling into a familiar favourite, our bartenders are here to guide you.

Charcuterie & Cheese
To complement our drinks, we serve British Charcuterie & Cheese boards that showcase the best of local and artisanal produce.
Our charcuterie comes from Mount Grace Charcuterie (James, in Northallerton), with cheeses including Baron Bigod Brie (Fen Farm Dairy) and Sparkenhoe Red Leicester, and other seasonal British favourites. These boards are designed for sharing and provide a perfect match to our cocktails and wines.
